Formex Design Party at PUB

A great design party at Room, PUB, introduced this falls design week. During the night, Stockholmsmässan presented the winners of the Nova 2011 price – Nordic designer of the year. The award winners were Simon Klenell for his glass design and Hanna Hedman for her jewellery design. During the night, the award winning chef and author, Marcus Samuelsson also launched his new tableware for Mateus. Everyone in the industry was there to enjoy a lovely night of design.

Press Launch – Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld

A unique collaboration in design and craftmanship

Press Launch of Orrefors new collection by Karl Lagerfeld. Clean lined, subtle and functional. The first members of Lagerfeld crystal family are champagne flutes and coupes and wine, water and liquer glasses. Transparent, black or milky white and the series typifies the Karl Lagerfeld  ethos of ultra strict lines. In the spirit of the designer’s well-known practicality, the series also includes monogrammed coasters to prevent any trace of an errant drop on an immaculate tablecloth. The collection will be available from September 1, 2011.

Chevrolet – Young Creative Awards

Young Scandinavian artists within photo, graphic design and fashion were competing about the Young Creative Chevrolet Awards. The jury announced the Swedish winners during a price ceremony at Designgalleriet May 23, 2011.

Press Launch of Alessis Summer Collection for 2011

Alessi, the iconic Italian kitchen and housewares company hold a press week in the beginning of May to launch design news for 2011.
One of the news was Dressed, a tableware collection designed by internationally renowned Marcel Wanders.

The Dressed collection composed of a complete collection of silverware, dishware and glassware in stainless steel, porcelain and crystal, the collection is reminiscent of Wanders’ baroque sensibility and intricate detail. Using the tagline, “Today we don’t eat, we dine,” Dressed is formal enough for the most lavish of dinner parties, yet understated enough to be used every day.

Alessi & Trendgruppen

Trendgruppen’s assignment with Alessi commenced in May 2011, managing Alessi’s PR in the Scandinavian market.  The initial focus will be on Sweden and Denmark. Mr. Alberto Alessi is Managing Director of Alessi and he represents the third generation of the Alessi family. Alessi’s strategy is the following:  “In the future most of our products will continue to be marked by a high degree of innovation and experimentation, as we believe this is the way to develop our ability to set trends, to promote our fame and to create a culture medium aimed at developing those projects we like to call Super & popular.”

Kvänum

Trendgruppen enjoys close cooperation with Kvänum, Sweden’s premium supplier of kitchens. Prior to the Stockholm Design Week 2011, Kvänum launched their new retro kitchen in a 1970s style. The launch was well attended, including a lunch served by renowned Stockholm restaurant GQ – all in a typical 70s manner. Many of the press and VIPs wrapped up the design week by attending the 70s party at Kvänum’s showroom at Sibyllegatan 34.

NK Inredning launched Established & Sons

During the Stockholm Furniture Fair, NK Inredning hosted an event featuring the pioneering British furniture company Established & Sons and Swedish premiere of the latest design of Sé. NK Inredning was also delighted to welcome the 2011 Stockholm Furniture Fair guest of honor Arik Levy, who presented elements of his ongoing exhibition ‘In power ten’ launched at Design Miami 2010.

Co-Founder and Design Director Sebastian Wrong and the internationally acclaimed designer Jaime Hayon were also highlights of the evening. And performing live were the Pipettes from London.

Lammhults at Stockholm Furniture Fair

Lammhults showcased their new arrivals at a large exhibition stand at the trade show. At the center of attention was the cast aluminum chair Aeris, a newly launched Lammhults product with a unique design that has been under development for the past three years.  Lammhults easy chair Volo also received a lot of attention, as did the modular sofa Area, featuring new extensions with poufs and small tables.

Sweden’s premiere furniture supplier kick started spring 2011 with a global launch. Trendgruppen arranged an event at Fotografiska museet (Museum of photography) in Stockholm with a local press viewing, VIP party and dinner for 70 specially invited international design journalists. The exhibition “Lammhults Modern Essentials” showcased a wide range of Lammhults furniture, from the classical 50s chair Pyramid to the company’s latest model Volo by Andreas Störiko, which was launched during the Stockholm Design Week.
