With Deque, Dornbracht presents a new fitting for the bathroom, which is distinguished by a strict, formal expression that is reduced to a flat, wide spout. The flat fitting lies very close to the basin, thereby drawing attention to the essential purpose behind it, namely the form in which water is presented.

10 Art Works by Photographer Francesco Valentino

The art exhibition is arranged in aid of Marianne & Sigvard Bernadotte Arts Fund. Ten unique art works are presented of Isabella Rossellini, Vivienne Westwood, Anna Piaggi,  Oscar de la Renta etc. During the opening reception, HRH Prince Carl Philip of Sweden attended as guest of honor. The Exhibition at Berns Salonger will last until October 31st 2011. The event was arranged by Hans Hjelmqvist, Trendgruppen PR.

Formex Design Party at PUB

A great design party at Room, PUB, introduced this falls design week. During the night, Stockholmsmässan presented the winners of the Nova 2011 price – Nordic designer of the year. The award winners were Simon Klenell for his glass design and Hanna Hedman for her jewellery design. During the night, the award winning chef and author, Marcus Samuelsson also launched his new tableware for Mateus. Everyone in the industry was there to enjoy a lovely night of design.

Press Launch of Orrefors new collection by Karl Lagerfeld. Clean lined, subtle and functional. The first members of Lagerfeld crystal family are champagne flutes and coupes and wine, water and liquer glasses. Transparent, black or milky white and the series typifies the Karl Lagerfeld  ethos of ultra strict lines. In the spirit of the designer’s well-known practicality, the series also includes monogrammed coasters to prevent any trace of an errant drop on an immaculate tablecloth. The collection will be available from September 1, 2011.

Chevrolet – Young Creative Awards

Young Scandinavian artists within photo, graphic design and fashion were competing about the Young Creative Chevrolet Awards. The jury announced the Swedish winners during a price ceremony at Designgalleriet May 23, 2011.

Press Launch of Alessis Summer Collection for 2011

Alessi, the iconic Italian kitchen and housewares company hold a press week in the beginning of May to launch design news for 2011.
One of the news was Dressed, a tableware collection designed by internationally renowned Marcel Wanders.

The Dressed collection composed of a complete collection of silverware, dishware and glassware in stainless steel, porcelain and crystal, the collection is reminiscent of Wanders’ baroque sensibility and intricate detail. Using the tagline, “Today we don’t eat, we dine,” Dressed is formal enough for the most lavish of dinner parties, yet understated enough to be used every day.
