Vandra Rugs in aid of World Childhood Foundation

Vandra Rugs has invited four well-known Swedish designers; industrial designer Monica Förster, architect Tomas Eriksson (TEA), the fashion house Hope and the design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg to each create one unique art rug. The rugs are to be sold at the auction house Bukowskis’  contemporary sale on November 15th 2012, all proceeds  will be donated to the World Childhood Foundation. Childhood was founded by HM Queen Silvia of Sweden in an effort to reach and support children at risk around the world. The foundation’s focus is on protecting children from sexual abuse as well as supporting those who have already fallen victim, with a concentration on girls and young mothers.

Fashionshow with Future Cities

Together with the consulting company WSP, Trendgruppen has selected six fashion designers from six different countries to create outfits based on specific factors. With themes such as water, energy, mobility, social responsibility, buildings, waste management, urban development and climate adaptation.

Alessi launches new collection

Alessi launched its fall and winter collection at the Alessi Flagship store in the MOOD mall. Just in, are Marcel Wanders’ new pots for Alessi, featuring finely decorated lids and handles in stainless steel. The pots are made using an exclusive deep drawing and coining technique developed at the company’s headquarters in Crusinallo, Italy. Alessi’s new Christmas collection was also presented at the press meeting. The collection include Christmas bubbles with an artistic feeling and cake tins for gingerbread made out of Alessis design classics.

Gense at Formex 2012

At Formex 2012, Gense showcased new design from three of Sweden’s most renowned designers, Ingegerd Råman, Monica Förster and Anders Ljungberg. The products combine Gense’s tradition and craftsmanship with design on a very high level.
New exciting products for this fall include black cutlery designed by Monica Förster in the Dorotea series. Gense also presents two different, but classic, salad sets, one designed by Monica Förster and the other by Ingegerd Råman in the well-known Indra series.

Launch of Bernadotte & Kylberg

In connection with the Formex Fair, August 16-19, 2012, NK Glas, Porslin & Kök launched Prince Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg’s “Svenska Djur” series, crafted for Gustavsbergs Porslinsfabrik by the Bernadotte & Kylberg design duo. The series is made of stoneware and will be sold exclusively at NK Glas Porslin & Kök during the launch.

Wood Punk at Wood Fusion

At Svenska Mässan in Gothenburg, August 21 – 24,  Trendgruppen and Stefan Nilsson presented a completely new picture of the material wood. “Wood Punk” shows that the material no longer needs to be nice, instead it can be rough and show attitude.

Bernadotte Art Awards 2012

The Marianne and Sigvard Bernadotte Arts Fund was created in 1982 to mark Sigvard Bernadotte’s seventy-fifth birthday. Grants are awarded each year to young scholars in music, theatre, design and art. The scholarships provide young artists with the opportunity to develop their talents at an early stage in their careers, many of whom have later become very successful.  Over the years, the foundation has awarded grants to over 150 artists. The patron of the fund, HRH Prince Carl Philip presented this year’s scholarsships to five young artists.

LG Electronics and Stefan Nilsson

In April, Stefan Nilsson made a selection of his favourites from Stockholm Design Week 2012, and produced an exhibition together with LG Electronics.

Planoform launches showroom with Italian design brands

Planoform, the Swedish agency for Binova, Lema and Agape, launched its new showroom with a focus on Italian quality design. Trendgruppen arranged a press show to inaugurate the new showroom. Each of the Italian design brands has a specific focus area: Binova offers smart kitchen solutions, Lema offers high quality storage solutions with a distinct design language and Agape offers an unrivaled bathroom experience.

Later that evening, select guests celebrated the official opening of Planoform’s showroom.
